Cecil Lammey LIVE from Mile High Station! Brandon Stokley joins the show to say there are plays to be made in this game against the Raiders, and establishing the run will be crucial in opening up the passing game. Running the ball & execution are important for Cecil, and he notes what utilizing Jamaal Charles in the pistol formation can do for Denver. Cecil says the Raiders might stink, and have multiple disadvantages that should pop up today. Trevor Siemian should set up with the short stuff, and that will allow him to be effective with deep shots later in the game. Cecil says Denver can’t forget to run the ball, and that will only help DT & Emmanuel. Cecil highlights double-cross concepts, and how they can free up explosive WRs like Sanders & DT. Cecil says David Amerson will have a bad day, and struggle to cover the Broncos’ playmaking wideouts one-on-one. Discipline is a major factor in an effective defense, and Cecil mentions Joseph & Amerson as guys on the defensive end for Oakland that are not always disciplined, and could slip & become targets. When Jamaal Charles is hot, Cecil agrees with Mike Evans that Denver needs to go with Charles even more, and take advantage of the pistol formation. Cecil says Jamaal knows this Raiders team well, from his time with Kansas City, and highlights some of Charles’ biggest games against Oakland in a Chiefs uniform. Also, one or two jet-sweeps from Isaiah McKenzie is plenty for Cecil. Cecil talks about how many carries he wants to see Devontae Booker getting once he’s incorporated in the Broncos’ system. Cecil says 35 is the magic number for carries across the Broncos’ backfield. Booker needs to be used efficiently, and Cecil decides what RB is best for the Broncos’ screen-game. Cecil notes the importance of watching Derek Carr’s feet & eyes today against Denver, and says you can confuse Carr by switching from man to zone, and disguising robber coverage. Carr may be without Crabtree, and Cecil notes what that would do to Carr’s game. Marshawn Lynch has the ultimate test this afternoon in taking on the Denver Broncos’ defensive front. Cecil notes how quickly Oakland gets away from the ground-and-pound approach when the game script gets away from them, and notes the importance of Denver jumping out to an early lead at home to minimize Lynch’s production. Domata Peko is highlighted, and Cecil says Peko will have his hands full today helping Todd Davis stay clean. Getting back into the W comun is most important this week, and Cecil breaks down the route concepts that should free up the Broncos’ biggest playmakers & work all day against the Raiders.
