The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Al & DMac decide if DT will make it into the Ring of Fame & if he will ever draw comparisons to Randy Moss. Vance Joseph gives his thoughts on how Mike McCoy has helped him, and Big Al says the first half of games is for teams to do what they want to do, and the second half is for what teams have to do. Patrick Saunders joins the show to talk about the terrible baseball the Rockies played last night, and why Nolan didn’t look like Nolan.
The guys talk about the black market & handicaps following Craig Carton’s arrest this week & Big Al says Carton was considering fleeing the country & changing his name. DMac says there’s no telling if you love sports or if you love to gamble, and why making inside bets on & against teams is prevented. Also, the King Soopers pick ‘em without point-spreads, the reason people get addicted to sports gambling, and Al says we all know how this ends, the road goes through New England. Al & DMac decide if DT will make it into the Ring of Fame & if he will ever draw comparisons to Randy Moss. DMac says the truth is somewhere in the middle with the Michael Bennett situation, and Al wonders if there will ever be a 2,000-yard receiver. Patrick Saunders joins the show to talk about the terrible baseball the Rockies played last night, and why Nolan didn’t look like Nolan. Kyle Freeland had a bad night, and Patrick discusses if the rookie can turn things around. The guys hear from Aqib Talib, fresh off being named as a Broncos team captain, and Al explains why nobody likes playing or watching Monday Night Football & why SNF is so much better. The guys take some guesses at NFL rookie records for ’17, and DMac says he’s not a Joe Mixon fan, but can see why Al wants to look at Mixon purely from a talent judgement standpoint. DMac does, however, love Isaiah McKenzie & DeAngelo Henderson as breakout rookies for the Broncos this year. Vance Joseph gives his thoughts on how Mike McCoy has helped him, and Big Al says the first half of games is for teams to do what they want to do, and the second half is for what teams have to do. Also, what the Broncos need to do this year to make the run game successful. Dmac doesn’t believe the Chargers are a good football team, and says Siemian looked great at times last year. Al asks is Siemian is better than Rivers straight up, and if the Broncos can score more than 24 points to keep up with LA. Also, DMac calls Al a pessimist.
Big Al loves Philip Rivers, and the guys debate if Brock is here to back up Trevor. Callers remind Al & DMac of the hype for the Chargers & Philip Rivers every year. DMac says you can’t stop the Chinese Dragon, Von Miller for an entire game. The guys debate if tonight’s game between the Patriots & Chiefs has any effect on the Broncos. Also, Al & Dmac make their picks for NFL Week 1 in the King Soopers Fan Football pick ‘em.
