Broncos’ Day Off, Trevor Story out for season: The Drive

The Drive with Big Al and DMac live with breaking Rockies news as Rookie stud Shortstop Trevor Story is expected to miss the remainder of the season after tearing the UCL in his left thumb and will have surgery soon to repair it.  We are joined by Troy Renck of The Denver Channel and Cecil Lammey, our very own Broncos Insider, to break down the first weekend of padded practice as the team was off today.  Troy also talks about the Trevor Story news, which he broke.

The Drive LIVE in studio with Big Al and DMac as today is a day off for the Denver Broncos as we start the conversation off with talk of how bad conditions are out in Rio ahead of these Summer Olympic Games.  Alfred brings up, again, the “Real Sports” episode he watched about the Olympics in Rio and how it’s changed people’s outlooks on these Olympic games.  The Daily Quarterback leaderboard touches on being critical of Mark Sanchez as the praises ring for Paxton Lynch.

The Big Three at 3:30 brings in Earl Boykins and brought up Yasiel Puig being sent to the Dodger’s Triple A affiliate, a cruise ship is housing the USA Basketball team and the Ravens waived former #3 overall pick, Trent Richardson.

The hour wraps with Earl and the fellas talking about the Olympics and trying to figure out what’s driving these athletes to head down there, where security and health is definitely a concern, to compete in these games… especially Andrew Bogut and Team Australia.

Football at Four underway with the guys talking with our very own Broncos Insider, Cecil Lammey to talk about how the day off has went.  The fellas also brought up the Quarterback situation and the growing concern that some of the Quarterbacks are living in “Check-down City.”

Breaking Rockies news comes down the wire as Troy Renck, of Denver’s 7, reports that Trevor Story will have surgery on his injured left thumb and could miss the rest of the season.

The Broncos have waived Shaneil Jenkins and have signed rookie Defensive Lineman Lars Koht.

Troy Renck, our Denver 7 Broncos Insider, joins the show to talk about, not only the Broncos but the breaking news regarding Trevor Story and his possible season-ending surgery on his UCL in his left thumb.

The third and final hour underway with Tyler Polumbus joining the show to give us a little insight into the offensive line position as the fellas move straight down the line breaking down each starter and comparing last season’s line to what the team has right now.  Tyler mentions he thought the organization would have brought in more competition on the line.

The Closing Bell has Tyrann Matheu getting his contract extension today and the offensive line of the Broncos as trending up.  Trending down is Rolando McClain and his “Purple Drank” addiction.  Baylor has not allowed their Assistant Football Coaches speak about any of the happenings from around the university in the past year.

The show wraps up with CU/CSU talk as Alfred admits he would NOT wear CSU gear if one of his children attended the school because he’s a Buff for life… DMac on the other hand, admits he would become a honk for any school his kid goes to.
