The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! CarGo gets going & Harden goes cold. Culture, slogans, and knowing what everyone is working on are all parts of being a pro, but DMac & Al say ‘We Can Do This.’ Cecil Lammey joins the program to discuss the Broncos rookies and which one got the best deal after the NFL draft. Also, steroids in baseball & Jon Jones set to fight DC at UFC 214.
CarGo gets going & Harden goes cold. DMac doesn’t get a good impression from James Harden being out at a night club after the Rockets loss, and Al wonders if fans would have been okay with it had Harden played better. DMac says he’s okay with it, but it’s not the best look, and asks Al if he thinks Harden tanked Game Six on purpose. The guys hear from Shane Ray on what TRUTH means and the latest Broncos slogan meaning. The Rise is Real, and the difference between a pro team making up a catchphrase and a college team motto. Cecil Lammey joins the program to discuss the Broncos rookies and which one got the best deal after the NFL draft. The Drive debates the Broncos most competitive players on offense & defense, and DMac gives Emmanuel Sanders some credit when it comes to being competitive. In the pressure cooker, guys with the most talent come through, and Big Al says the emotional connection to the NFL game is just as important as physical talent. The levels of leadership are discussed, as well as the legend of the Jerry Rice workout. Also, Big Al says the laid-back Trevor Pryce was a legendary player that never really got along with the coaches, and you need your most talented player to be your biggest leader.
The moment Ubaldo Jimenez got traded to the Cleveland Indians, and when Bill Geivett told the guys to ‘trust the organization.’ DMac says everybody was using steroids in 90’s baseball, and Todd helton & Ken Griffey Jr.’s odd careers had some bad timing.
