The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Al notes the fantastic draft the Rams had this year despite not having a pick in the first two rounds, and eyes Drew Lock out of Missouri in next year’s draft as a target for Denver if things don’t work out with Keenum.
Big Al has buyer’s remorse about the Broncos QB situation, and goes over the moves made by the LA Rams to land their guy in Jared Goff. Al notes the fantastic draft the Rams had this year despite not having a pick in the first two rounds, and eyes Drew Lock out of Missouri in next year’s draft as a target for Denver if things don’t work out with Keenum. DMac calls Al a ‘Chubbaholic’ and says the Broncos could have made a run at Sam Darnold out of USC this year if they wanted to. In the Big 3, Big Al talks about the Cavs dominating the Raptors, and DMac asks Al if he would be interested in a Tiger vs Phil duel or playoff. Also, what in the world Tom Brady chose to wear at the 2018 Met Gala. The guys decide if Case Keenum is the long-term answer, and if the Broncos have a backup plan if things with Keenum go sour.
DMac lets Big Al know Rakeem Nunez-Roches is now available after being released by the Chiefs, and the guys review Denver’s matchup with Kansas City in 2017. DMac says situations like the one with Nunez-Roches are rare, and Big Al says there’s no way he will clear waivers, giving Denver a chance to sign him. Pink! Is at the Pepsi Center tonight, and the guys decide if she’s a big star & if they enjoyed her National Anthem performance at the Super Bowl. Also, Gisele brings Tom Brady along to the 2018 Met Gala. We get an update on Big Al & DMac’s golf game, and how hard it is to get a hole-in-one. Also, the guys run through the prime-time lineup and Big Al decides whether or not he likes the various NFL Network, NBC, CBS & ESPN personalities on the air.
The guys go over some veteran names that stick out to Big Al in free agency, such as Antonio Gates. DMac asks Al if the Broncos bring in Gates, who they would be forced to move on from, such as Austin Traylor or Jeff Heuerman. Also, when it’s time to cut ties with Paxton Lynch in favor of Chad Kelly. Big Al wants the Broncos to land Bradley Chubb’s brother, Brandon, after he was cut by the Detroit Lions. The guys take a call on how Antonio Gates can be like Jerry Rice, and what Gates would bring to a TE room. Al says the toughest position to play on any team is the Tight End position.
