The Global Down Syndrome Foundation was created to ensure better health and longer lives for people with Down syndrome and has invested over $32 million to establish the first Down Syndrome Research Institute, supporting hundreds of scientists and thousands of patients. Despite progress, significant stigma, health disparities, and a shorter average lifespan—especially among Black and Hispanic individuals—remain. Although the DeOndra Dixon Include Project Act did not pass this year, advocacy continues.
