The Drive | Hour 3 | 09.30.26

Wednesday, September 30, 2026 | 46:34

In hour 3 of The Drive, Zach and Will are joined by DenverSports.com's James Merilatt joining the show to react to Jared Bednar's contract extension with the Avalanche. Was Bednar deserving of an extension after all the playoff failures? What are the guys' first impressions of the undefeated 49ers to start the season? Is this a potential Super Bowl preview? Are we still underrating Brock Purdy after all the success he's had in the NFL? We react to the report that the Colorado Buffaloes are making a change at quarterback, and Isaac Wilson will start for the Buffs this Saturday. Has Juju Lewis played his last snap for the Buffs? Is there controversy over repeat numbers between the backup quarterback and another wide receiver on the team? We hear from Sean Payton on what he's saying to Davis Webb throughout games, with Webb being the play caller. Are the guys surprised/encouraged by how hands-off Sean has been with play calling and not interjecting during offensive drives?
