Nathan MacKinnon ‘appreciative’ of support after viral swimming video

Colorado Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon is an unbelievable athlete with an intense workout regimen.

And that includes swimming, something the most fit people on Earth swear is one of the best things you can do for your body.

MacKinnon got a swim in on Friday in Minnesota and the video is going viral. The Avalanche flew in a day before Game 3 against the Wild.

The video has nearly three million views on social media and for some reason bags on what MacKinnon is swimming with at a hotel pool.

If Nathan MacKinnon wants to get a workout wearing flippers and goggles, who cares?

He’s nominated for the Hart Trophy for a fifth time this season and was absolutely dominant in a 5-2 Game 2 victory. That put the Avalanche up 2-0 over the Wild in their second-round series.

After morning skate on Saturday, MacKinnon confirmed the video was of him swimming at the hotel the day before and said he’s “appreciative” of the support.

When told there was a significant amount of support for him after the negative connotation of the OG post, he said he was very appreciative of everyone who had his back.

Of course Avs fans have the back of Nathan MacKinnon.

Whatever he needs to do to get ready for Game 3 and the rest of the playoffs, they’re going to be behind.

And it’s slightly hilarious that Wild fans are using this video to try to belittle MacKinnon. He’s the best hockey player on the planet — they should probably be more concerned with that.

Especially with their team two games away from elimination. If that happens, the Minnesota players will have plenty of time to swim on vacation the rest of the summer.
