The Colorado Avalanche will continue their Stanley Cup celebration on Sunday at the Broncos game.

The Avs will be honored pregame as Denver hosts the Texans. Immediately prior to kickoff, Avalanche players will lead the “wow fan pump” from the North end zone. The team will then be recognized on field during the first time out in the first quarter.

This is the second time the Avs have taken the Cup to the home of another Denver team. Almost immediately after they won their first title since 2001, they were with the Rockies at Coors Field before a game back in June. Captain Gabriel Landeskog threw out the first pitch that evening.

The Cup has been back in Denver for a couple of weeks now, with Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson even hanging out with it downtown. Wilson, his offensive line and the two backup QBs met up with Avalanche forward Logan O’Connor. We also saw former Denver QB and Hall of Famer Peyton Manning snap a picture with the Cup and defenseman Erik Johnson a couple of months back.

On Thursday, the best trophy in sports made its way to UCHealth training center and several Broncos players took photos with it. The team also showed off the Cup next to their three Lombardi trophies before releasing a video.

Of course, the Broncos hope to claim a fourth Lombardi trophy and take it to an Avs game this year. They’ve got work to do, starting the season 0-1 with a heartbreaking loss to the Seahawks.

The Stanley Cup being in the building on Sunday should bring extra juice, with the Broncos looking to beat up the Texans and get back to .500 on the year.
