22 Janos? Just give me 12 Torrey Craigs: The Drive 5/2/19
Watch: What were the BIG takeaways from Sean Payton's first camp press conference? | Freshly Grated | 24 mins
In the first hour, D-Mac and Tom recap last night’s action at Pepsi Center. Just like they did in the opening round against the Spurs, the Nuggets once again dropped a home game early in the series. Michael Malone praised Torrey Craig’s toughness after he battled through a gruesome nose injury, but what else must this team do in order to make it back to the Western Conference Finals since 2009? D-Mac says research shows there is a very specific course of action the Broncos must take if they want to successfully hand the team off to Drew Lock as the quarterback of the future. Barry Melrose, our Avalanche Playoff Insider, closed out the hour breaking down what he expects from the Avalanche ahead of Game 4 against the Sharks tonight.
In the second hour, D-Mac and Tom discuss what the Broncos’ quarterback succession plan should be. D-Mac says history proves second round quarterbacks face an uphill battle when it comes to long-term success as starters and warns that the Broncos could find themselves right back where they started if they do not handle their quarterback plan with care. Fan Broncos Insider Nicki Jhabvala joins the program to break down the latest from UC Health Training Center. Nicki gives her thoughts on where the Broncos’ roster is at with the draft now in the rear view. Tom explains why he thinks the Nuggets couldn’t string anything together last night against the Trailblazers.
In the third hour, D-Mac and Tom try and imagine what kind of week Pepsi Center employees have been experiencing with the Nuggets and Avalanche both pushing deeper into their respective playoffs. ESPN’s Barry Melrose, our Avalanche Playoff Insider joined the program to discuss what went wrong for the Avalanche in Game 3 against the Sharks and forecast what he expects from both teams in Game 4 tonight.
