Shedeur Sanders ticketed for driving over 100 mph on highway

Former Colorado Buffaloes star and current Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders was cited for driving 101 miles per hour in a 60 mph zone early Tuesday morning in Strongsville, Ohio.

Fox 8 in Cleveland first reported the police records that show Sanders received a citation for the infraction, which occurred at 12:24 a.m. on 71 North.

Sanders was taken in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Browns, and he is in a four-way fight for the quarterback job with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel.

Sanders never got into any trouble in Boulder and became one of the best quarterbacks in school history. As the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, he led CU to the Alamo Bowl in the school’s first fall back in the conference.

Some will likely use this speeding ticket against Sanders.

Fox 8 shared that Judy Converse of the Ohio Traffic Safety Office said, “There is no excuse for extreme speeds.”

Some will see Sanders’ ticket as minor.

As with all things Shedeur, it’ll likely be a debate topic in the morning — he’s a lightning rod for conversation.
