Von Miller ignoring quarterback rumors, “running” with Lock

Von Miller held his annual pass rush summit in Las Vegas over the weekend and addressed the quarterback rumors surround the Denver Broncos and Aaron Rodgers.

“It’s crazy to think about, you know, getting an Aaron Rodgers,” Miller said over the weekend during his annual pass-rushing summit, per Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “You put him on any team in the league, and he changes that team.”

Miller is not allowing himself to get worked up over the possibility of Rodgers or even Texans quarterback DeShaun Watson being traded to Denver.

Rumors will not help any team win in the NFL, and Miller acknowledged that the Broncos are backing quarterback Drew Lock to see if he is the answer.

“You start thinking, ‘Oh, we’re going to get Aaron Rodgers or Deshaun Watson,” Miller said. “But hold on, wait a minute, we’ve got Drew Lock. That’s who we’re running with. That’s who we’re going into the season with until anything changes.”

Of course Lock will have to beat out Teddy Bridgewater for the starting quarterback job first.

Bridgewater shined a little brighter than Lock during OTAs, but Lock has the advantage of being younger and more familiar with his team.

Rumors will still manage to surface during the offseason,  but Miller won’t look too deep into a potential new quarterback coming to town.

“If you get too emotionally involved in those guys, and then it doesn’t happen, now you got [Drew] Lock over here looking like … what about now?'” Miller said. “So you don’t want to get too emotionally attached to the rumors.”
