Pritchard & Cecil – 03/02/2018 – Cecil Lammey live from the NFL Combine in Indianapolis and Mike Pritchard live in studio. Friday’s show the guys talk about Saquon Barkley’s draft stock, the Broncos meeting the combine with certain quarterbacks and if Lamar Jackson should stay at quarterback.
Hour one Pritchard & Cecil talk about the latest news coming out of Indianapolis and some of what Cecil is hearing as Cecil Lammey broadcasts live from the NFL Combine. The guys then jump into the first round of the draft and some of what they think will happen with the first pick of the first round through the tenth pick of the first round. The guys also discuss what Saquon Barkley’s status is after a strong showing at the combine yesterday. Mike Pritchard talks about the value of a Saquon Barkley and what a run game can do for the quarterback. Cecil Lammey agrees and gets into how a player like Barkley can improve an offense right away. The guys also get into where he might go in the first round and if the Broncos should have a shot at him.
Also, Cecil Lammey loves offensive lineman Quenton Nelson but he also has other guards the Broncos can focus on. Cecil Lammey breaks down some of the notable offensive lineman in the draft this year and why the Broncos can really improve their offensive line this off-season.
Hour two Pritchard & Cecil talk about the Broncos pursuit of a quarterback and what drafting a young quarterback for Denver would entail if they do decide to grab one with the fifth pick of the first round. Mike Pritchard explains why a young quarterback has to grow with a young locker room core. Mike Pritchard goes on further to also say a veteran locker room like the Broncos have might be better suited for a Kirk Cousins or a more veteran quarterback. Cecil Lammey also gives his thoughts on how a young quarterback would fit in Denver’s locker room. The guys also talk about the Broncos not having a whole lot of patients now to retool the team for 2018.
For the rest of hour two Pritchard & Cecil talk about Lamar Jackson being requested by some teams to do wide receiver drills. The guys talk about how Jackson should be a quarterback in the NFL and why he should stick to quarterback drills at the 2018 NFL Combine. The guys break that down and much more as the off-season rolls on.
Hour three Pritchard & Cecil talk about how the Drew Brees contract will impact the Broncos discussions with Kirk Cousins on a possible contract. The guys break down how much money Brees might get with his new deal and what that might mean for Kirk Cousins. Mike Pritchard talks about why the Brees contract won’t impact the Cousins contract discussion at all for the Broncos. Cecil Lammey also agrees and gives his thoughts on the ballpark number that Cousins might get signed for. The guys then jump into quarterbacks that the Broncos are set to meet with at out the combine. The fellas talk about what these six quarterback meetings may mean for Denver.
For the rest of the final hour on Friday the guys react to some running back 40 yard dash times. The guys talk about some of what these running backs having been running today from out at the NFL Combine. The guys talk about what these 40 times mean for certain running backs draft stocks.
