Shedeur Sanders has more Pro Bowl votes than Bo Nix

Shedeur Sanders has only played in five games and started four, but the rookie quarterback for the Cleveland Browns is tenth in Pro Bowl voting despite his team’s 3-11 record. That means the former Colorado Buffaloes star actually has more votes for the event than second-year Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, who is leading the best team in the NFL.

The latest update came on Monday as fan voting closed for the All-Star event.

It’s something that will likely bother Broncos fans and isn’t indiective in anyway of their talent or performance. All it shares is the popularity of Sanders, which isn’t a surprise to anyone. But it does beg the question, when will Nix get more love for his standout and much-improved play?

Nix has led the Broncos to the playoffs for a second-straight season after the team’s long drought. This year, he’s improved by limiting his mistakes. He’s thrown for 3,256 yards, 23 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He’s also run for 254 yards and four touchdowns and has been sacked 16 times.

Meanwhile, Sanders, the former Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, who fell in the NFL Draft, has finally gotten a chance in recent weeks. He has thrown for 946 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for another 74 yards and a touchdown in 10 attempts. He’s been sacked 13 times.

Drake Maye, Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, Dak Prescott, Jordan Love, Caleb Williams, Jared Goff, and Sam Darnold are all ahead of Sanders in Pro Bowl voting so it’s unlikely either the former Buff or Duck gets in because of the fans. Nix may have a chance on his own merits, but the Broncos’ Super Bowl hopes may complicate those matters in the best way.
