Report says Broncos interested in Von Miller reunion, Miller’s Instagram fuels fire

Pro Football Network's Aaron Wilson has a list of four teams that want Miller, including the Broncos, but the interest might not be mutual just yet.

As the NFL world anxiously awaits the Aaron Rodgers decision, other higher profile names are beginning to ponder their next move as well.

That includes former Broncos star and future Hall of Famer Von Miller.

Fresh off his Super Bowl win with the Rams, Miller is set to enter free agency on March 16 and earn another massive payday.

Miller was dominant in the postseason for Los Angeles, recording four sacks and six quarterback hits. It wasn’t quite the same as Denver’s Super Bowl 50 run, but it wasn’t far behind.

Miller projects to be one the top pass-rushers available, and could command a deal around $18M per season for two years. But which team will that be with?

One of the first Miller reports surfaced on Monday morning, with Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network dropping some interesting nuggets. First, Wilson names four teams interested in Miller: The Rams, Chargers, Packers and Broncos.

Wilson cites a source saying there’s “strong mutual interest” between Miller and the Rams, but it’s not a slam dunk. He could also join Joey Bosa to form a dynamic duo with the Chargers or head to Green Bay. That one is a little trickier, though, given the salary cap difficulties the Packers face.

So, where do the Broncos fit in all of this?

Here’s what Wilson offered up:

“The Denver Broncos, Miller’s former team that traded him last season to the Rams, are also interested. A reunion isn’t necessarily Miller’s first choice in free agency, though, per a source.”

It seems obvious Miller wouldn’t want to return to Denver right now, at least as the team is currently constructed. Miller lived that nightmare the past several seasons, from Case Keenum to Joe Flacco to Teddy Bridgewater.

But as we know, a lot can change in the next 10 days — starting with a possible blockbuster Rodgers trade. Just like when Peyton Manning inked a deal with Denver in 2012, free agents would be lining up to come to Denver. Think Aqib Talib, DeMarcus Ware and T.J. Ward in 2014. Those guys eventually all got a great return on their investment in the form of a Super Bowl ring.

Speaking of Super Bowl rings, Miller already has two of those — with his decision this offseason potentially leading to a third. The Broncos may want Miller back, but need to shore up the QB position before the interest is mutual.

Update (10:59 a.m.):

Miller just posted this cryptic update on his Instagram story. He, of course, wore No. 40 in Los Angeles after wearing No. 58 in Denver.

What does it all mean? Stay tuned.

Update (11:27 a.m.):

This one from Miller isn’t cryptic. At all.

Update (12:01 p.m.):

And in the clearest indication from Miller yet, this tweet couldn’t be any more clear: He wants to come back to Denver.

Update (2:33 p.m.):

Miller also posted a video on Instagram of him on a beach with a message to Broncos fans. “I wouldn’t tease y’all like that man,” Miller said. “It’s real, man. First time I’m going to be a free agent, man. I’m just sitting back on the beach, man, waiting on it, man. Broncos Country, what’s up?!”
