Report: Mark Sanchez to start Broncos preseason opener against Bears

The Denver Broncos have a starting quarterback. At least, only one will take the field Thursday night against the Chicago Bears.

Veteran Mark Sanchez will lead the No. 1 offense onto Soldier Field, not second-year gunslinger Trevor Siemian, 9News Broncos Insider Mike Klis reports.

Head coach Gary Kubiak said earlier Tuesday afternoon that Sanchez and Siemian will each play one quarter, while rookie Paxton Lynch will play the entire second half.

Both Sanchez, who had been somewhat a consensus pick heading into training camp to win the job, and Siemian were listed as co-starters on the team’s first depth chart of the season released Monday.
