Denver Broncos tight end Lucas Krull might be done for the season.

Or maybe, just maybe, he can get back for the final game or two and a potential postseason run.

Krull’s been on IR since early this month, but has now undergone surgery on his foot according to multiple reports. He’s excepted to be out for another eight weeks, which could put a possible return in play around Christmas.

Krull played in three games with the Broncos this year before getting hurt in practice. He had two catches for 15 yards. For his career in Denver, Krull has 29 receptions for 262 yards and one touchdown.

The Broncos tight end room is crowded, with Evan Engram being the headliner followed by Adam Trautman, Nate Adkins and Krull. QB Bo Nix doesn’t rely on his TEs as much as some QBs, but Engram has shown flashes the last few games after a tough start to the season.

Ultimately, this is a bummer for Krull, but hopefully the surgery puts him on the right path to a recovery. Whether or not he plays again this year for the Broncos remains to be seen.
