The Denver Broncos left Atlanta with a dominant 27-7 win over the Falcons on Friday night.
Unfortunately, the preseason opener wasn’t all good news.
According to 9NEWS and 104.3 The Fan insider Mike Klis, Broncos linebacker Levelle Bailey broke his leg in the victory. Klis reports that Bailey will undergo surgery and “miss extensive time.” Whether or not his season is over remains to be seen.
Bailey signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State after the 2024 NFL Draft. He’s appeared in 13 career games, including three last year, making five total tackles.
Klis reports that Bailey was carted to the locker room in Atlanta after a special teams play, something the local broadcast didn’t show. He was in a battle to be a backup inside linebacker with the likes of Karene Reid, Jordan Turner and Red Murdock.
The Broncos have yet to announce the injury or make a roster move, but a broken leg is a huge bummer for Bailey.
Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery and a return as soon as possible, whether that be late this season or for the offseason program leading into the 2027 campaign.
