Report: Broncos give WR Courtland Sutton new deal worth almost $100 million

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton isn’t going anywhere.

The team locked up Bo Nix’s favorite target on Monday afternoon for at least five more years (including this one), according to multiple reports. The new contract and extension for Sutton will pay him nearly $100 million.

Courtland Sutton is entering the final year of his contract, that was set to pay him $14 million, so this is a huge raise. He’ll make an average of $23 million per season over the next four years, beginning in 2026. That’s according to 9NEWS and 104.3 The Fan insider Mike Klis.

Klis also has details on the guarantees for Sutton, which will add up to a total of $41 million, including this year.

Sutton, a former second-round pick out of SMU, has been with the Broncos since 2018. He has 379 receptions for more than 5,300 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Last year, his first with Nix, Courtland Sutton caught 81 passes for 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns. He also hit a bunch of incentives that were put into his contract by GM George Paton and head coach Sean Payton.

Now, Sutton will likely play close to his entire career in Denver. He’s soon to be 30-years-old, so this new deal will take him through his prime.

Sutton is here to stay, and you have to think Nix is thrilled about the news. This deal makes him tied for the 18th highest paid wide receiver in the NFL.

Up next, Courtland Sutton and the Broncos will be focused on winning playoff games, something the franchise hasn’t done since taking Super Bowl 50 after the 2015 season.
