Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix went on injured reserve on Saturday.
That ended his officially ended his season, something we had known for more than week.
Nix fractured his ankle in the divisional round against the Buffalo Bills and Broncos head coach Sean Payton let the media know with a second press conference after the game.
And while the AFC Title Game is the obvious topic of the day, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shared a positive update from Nix’s surgery earlier this week in Alabama.

Rapoport says it’s “good news” and it certainly is that there’s limited ligament damage. It will be frustrating for Bo Nix to have to stay off his feet, based on that report, but he knows the ankle will need time resting to properly heal.
Also, the fact Nix could be back for mini-camp in May is a great sign. But it’ll also be his third year in the NFL, so the Broncos really only need him for OTAs in June then of course training camp in July and August.
Ultimately, this is about as good of an update as Broncos Country could’ve asked for. It’s a killer blow that Bo Nix is done for this season, but the ankle injury not bleeding into 2026 prep is a solid development.
