Quinn Meinerz says Broncos are Bo Nix’s team, they keep him comfortable

The Denver Broncos are back for training camp 2025 — and QB Bo Nix is a popular topic.

Even though we haven’t heard from the second-year quarterback at the podium quite yet, all his teammates are getting asked about Nix.

Both Pat Surtain II and Mike McGlinchey had nice things to say about him on Tuesday, and on Thursday, it was offensive guard Quinn Meinerz’s turn.

Meinerz was asked by Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan’s Zach Bye point blank if this is Nix’s team.

“Yeah, it was kind of his team when we got here. And that’s the job as the offensive line to make him feel comfortable, on the field (and) off the field,” Meinerz said.

Nix had such a successful rookie year for the Broncos that Meinerz has no problem saying that coming into this season, he’s the leader.

It’s also important that the talented offensive line featuring guys like Meinerz, McGlinchey, Garett Bolles and Ben Powers keeps Nix upright on Sundays as well and in a good place during the week.

“He’s done a great job himself preparing for his moments and I think we’ve all done our job around him to make him feel comfortable, players and staff. To continue to be behind him and let Bo Nix be Bo Nix,” Meinerz said.

If the Broncos get Nix to make a leap in year two, they’ll be in great shape. Denver might have the No. 1 defense in the NFL, and Nix can hopefully build off an outstanding 2024 in which he threw for more than 3,700 yards and 29 touchdowns.

It’s nice to have a training camp off and running where there aren’t questions about who the starting QB will be.

It’s much more pleasant to have that locked in with many key Broncos veterans expressing that Nix is the unquestioned face of the franchise.
