Former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain II left Sunday’s Denver Broncos game against the San Francisco 49ers after suffering what appeared to be a non-contact injury to his right ankle.
Surtain was not carted off, leaving the field slowly with the help of the Broncos staff.
He was replaced by former first round pick and 2024 Jim Thorpe winner at Texas for best college defensive back Jahdae Barron.

The game went to halftime quickly after the play where Surtain went down. He was listed as questionable with an ankle injury. And then later ruled out. Fellow corner back Riley Moss also left the game. He has a rib injury and he was ruled out.
