Bo Nix receives respectable ranking in NFL Top 100

When the Denver Broncos selected Bo Nix with the No. 12 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, there were definitely some questions surrounding him. He was a guy who played a lot of college football, so he was older than most other rookie prospects, and he played in a favorable system at Oregon that made it easy for a quarterback to thrive.

Nix silenced a good chunk of his doubters throughout the season as he led the Broncos to a 10-7 regular season record and the franchise’s first postseason berth in nine years. He completed over 66% of his passes en route to 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. While the defense was outstanding for the Broncos last year, they don’t make the playoffs with a lot of guys not named Bo Nix under center.

This season, the 25-year-old has captured the attention of many people around the NFL who are waiting to see how he’s further transformed his game over the offseason to become an even better quarterback. Some think that a sophomore slump is coming his way, while some think a massive leap is on the horizon. He’s also caught the attention of his fellow peers, who voted him as the 64th-best player in the league heading into 2025.

As it stands, with players 63-100 being revealed as of Thursday morning, Nix is the highest-rated played who did not make the list a season ago, a massive jump that shows the respect he’s gained. He is one of just two quarterbacks from the 2024 class to be voted to the NFL Top 100 alongside Washington’s Jayden Daniels.

The NFL started the clip of Nix showing the lows of the beginning of his rookie campaign, two games which were instrumental into shaping the rest of his season. He threw four interceptions in his first two NFL outings as the Broncos dropped to 0-2, but quickly rebounded with a huge road victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that led to him throwing just two interceptions over his next 11 games.

Solomon Thomas, a defensive tackle who played for the New York Jets in 2024 and has been around the league since 2017, had high praise for the young signal caller.

“We played them Week 4, so he was still getting in a groove then, and then, after that, he just took off. He was getting more decisive and it was just cool to watch,” Thomas said.

Having seasoned veterans talk about how Nix’s game was ‘cool’ to watch is something that Broncos fans should love. After years and years of searching for someone to be a competent NFL quarterback after Peyton Manning rode off into the sunset after Super Bowl 50, the Broncos finally have their guy in Nix.

Nix’s teammates also emphasized how much he’s grown as a leader and a teammate at Broncos practice on Tuesday. He has the support of so many people around the league, and now, it’s on him to go out and execute to lead the Broncos to some playoff victories, not just an appearance. Along with that, head coach Sean Payton revealed that the second-year quarterback spent some time this summer learning from one of the game’s greatest quarterbacks in Drew Brees.
