How to get to Empower Field at Mile High using public transit

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) suspended BroncosRide services in April 2020, and that will continue for a third Denver Broncos season this fall.

BroncosRide was initially suspended indefinitely because of staffing challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The service, which busses travelers from Park-N-Ride stations around the metro area to Empower Field at Mile High for Broncos games, hosted 103,102 passengers during the 2019 season.

While the Broncos-specific buses won’t be available to Broncos Country, RTD still has other great ways to get to the stadium. Denver’s light rail system serves Empower Field via the Decatur-Federal (W Line) and Empower Field at Mile High (C, E and W Lines) stops. RTD told 9News that during the 2022 season, they would expand capacity for train cars on those lines running on Broncos game days.

Union Station
Denver’s Union Station is 1.5 miles from the stadium, about a 30-minute walk, according to google. Most services in the metro, like the Flatiron Flyer, run to or through Union Station. If you’re not interested in the jaunt over, which includes a walk through much of Denver’s best bars in restaurants, you can make a short light rail trip.

Train
E and W Line light rail service run to Empower Field at Mile High from Union Station. Limited C Line service will be available before and immediately after games if you’re commuting from the Highlands Ranch/Littleton area.

The University of Colorado A, B, G and N Line commuter rail service is available to Denver Union Station. There you can walk or transfer to the C, E or W light rail lines.

So if you’re coming in from the airport, take the University of Colorado A Line, then transfer at Union Station to the E or W line, getting off right next to the stadium.

Bus
Route 31 (North Federal Boulevard)
Route 30 (South Federal Boulevard)

Taking either route serves the Decatur-Federal Station, which is only 0.3 miles away, a seven-minute walk. Routes 1, 15L and 16 also service that station.

The City of Denver also offers scooter and bike share programs.
