DENVER BRONCOS

Four best players for the Broncos on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft

After going with a cornerback in the first round, the Broncos are likely looking for offense in rounds two and three; and there are good options

The first day of the 2025 NFL Draft is complete. The Denver Broncos surprised many when they selected Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron with the No. 20 overall pick.

Running back and Defensive Tackle should be the positions the Broncos are looking at on Friday, but this team will also be looking for the best players available regardless of position. Could they surprise again like they did on Thursday?

Here are four of the best players the Broncos should be considering on Day 2 of the NFL Draft.

TreVeyon Henderson | RB | Ohio State

There are a few running backs I believe the Broncos should consider on Friday. Both Ohio State backs, TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, are near the top of the list. Henderson is a big-play back who can flip the field with tons of speed. He’s the best pass-protecting back in this class, something Broncos HC Sean Payton covets. Plus, Henderson is a dangerous runner when in space. Judkins is a power back with speed, but he’s not quite the receiver that Henderson is. Either one could immediately step into the starting role with the Broncos.

If both Henderson and Judkins are gone, Tennessee RB Dylan Sampson might be their pick.

Mason Taylor | TE | LSU

A player that could have gone in the first round is LSU TE Mason Taylor. He’s a player with an athletic profile that scouts love. Taylor is fast, physical, and he creates mismatches anytime he’s on the field. He’s not afraid to go over the middle, and Taylor can instantly be counted on to move the chains. He could go off the board within the first five picks on Friday, so if the Broncos want him, they’ll have to trade up.

If they stay at pick no.51 and want a tight end, then Oregon’s Terrance Ferguson could be an option.

Alfred Collins | DT | Texas

How about selecting one of Barron’s college teammates? The Broncos are going to add a defensive tackle in this draft, and Alfred Collins from Texas would fit the bill. He’s a mountain of a man that is tough to beat one-on-one. Collins can play over the center, and blockers will struggle to move him out of the way as a run stuffer. In addition to what he can do stuffing the run, Collins has the wingspan and size to get interior pressure with a motor that just doesn’t quit.

If Collins is gone by the time they pick, Toledo DT Darius Alexander could be on their list.

Jayden Higgins | WR | Iowa State

Sean Payton likes big-bodied wide receivers, and Iowa State’s Jayden Higgins could be an option for the team if they want to go with a receiver on Day 2. A big receiver with a basketball skill set is likely to be a plus player in the NFL. Higgins is a smooth athlete with great “my ball” mentality. He uses his length and athleticism to climb high in the air to retrieve passes others just can’t get.

If Higgins goes off the board too early, then CSU’s Tory Horton should be there at pick 85 overall in the third round.
