The Broncos injury situation continues to be a worry. On Monday, Denver had around 20 players not participating in the team’s OTAs, mainly because of injuries.
Wide receiver Tim Patrick missed because of a hamstring injury. Wide receiver Courtland Sutton is sitting out coming off his ACL injury. Tight end Noah Fant didn’t practice, but not because of a football injury; he had a wisdom tooth pulled. Wide receiver K.J. Hamler is still slowed by a hamstring injury.
Linebacker Bradley Chubb is waiting until training camp to practice because of an ankle injury. Drew Lock practiced, but he struggled. He has blister on his throwing hand.
Injuries have to be a worry for every teams. Injuries pulled down the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles last year. It destroyed the Dallas Cowboys season, as well.
The scary part is the Broncos are going through their first transition at trainer in decades. That makes this situation even dicier.
Steve “Greek” Antonopulos is retiring after 45 years with the franchise. He’s 72 and is considered one of the best in the game. He treated close to 1,000 players during his great career. He started in 1976. His most recent title was director of sports medicine.
On another front, the Aaron Rodgers boycott now carries over into the Green Bay Packers minicamp. He was a no-show as expected.
There is no change on the Rodgers front. He still wants out of Green Bay. The Packers aren’t planning to trade him. The stalemate continues.
