ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Three days after the Broncos saw defensive end Zach Allen and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle leave due to injuries suffered in the final moments of last Sunday’s 30-16 win at Arizona, both key starters did not participate in practice as the team began its on-field work in advance of the Nov. 1 game at Kansas City.

Allen and Waddle were seen on the field when practice began, but both were listed as non-participants due to hamstring and chest injuries, respectively.

Waddle was listed on last week’s injury reports with a chest issue, which left him with limited participation in the Wednesday and Thursday practices before seeing full work Oct. 23. He aggravated the injury when he went down after a reverse that went askew with 4:45 remaining in regulation.

Allen was injured shortly thereafter. During a postgame press conference shortly after the win over the Cardinals, Allen said he would be “fine.”

According to a report from ESPN and NFL Network, Waddle’s status for Sunday game will be “determined at a later time.”

They were not the only Broncos who did not take part in Wednesday’s work. Safety Talanoa Hufanga remained sidelined due to the ankle injury he suffered in the third quarter of the Week 6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

TWO OTHER BRONCOS LIMITED IN WEDNESDAY’S WORK

Left tackle Garett Bolles — who has the lowest pressure rate allowed of any offensive tackle in the NFL, per Pro Football Focus data — was limited Wednesday due to a hip issue.

Wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr., who returned to full-time kickoff-return duty in the win over the Cardinals and helped spark the Broncos with a 39-yard kickoff return and a 47-yard reception in the third quarter, was also limited due to an ankle problem.

In Kansas City, cornerback L’Jarius Sneed was the only member of the 53-player roster who did not take part in Wednesday’s work. While his absence was listed as “personal” and not related to an injury, he also was denoted with a knee issue.
