Broncos-Bills game time, broadcast network are set

The Broncos will host their first postseason game in nearly a decade in the leadoff spot for the weekend.

Saturday’s divisional-playoff showdown between the Broncos and the Buffalo Bills will take place at 2:30 p.m. MDT, the NFL announced just after the Houston Texans defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-6 to complete the wild-card round.

The NFL set Broncos-Bills for Saturday in its Sunday night announcement after the penultimate game of the wild-card weekend, but opted to delay setting the kickoff times of each divisional games until the result of the Texans-Steelers game.

The game will be broadcast on CBS, meaning that Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will be in the booth.

Both of the AFC games will lead off their respective days next weekend.

IT’S THE BRONCOS’ FIRST SATURDAY AFTERNOON PLAYOFF GAME IN 13 YEARS

The last time the Broncos played in the early Saturday window in the divisional round was a game that went down in team infamy — the crushing 38-35 double-overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Jan. 12, 2013.

Overall, this will mark the seventh time in team history that the team has hosted a divisional-round game on a Saturday. Denver is 4-2 in previous games, with wins in the postseasons of 1977 (Pittsburgh), 1991 (Houston Oilers), 1998 (Miami) and 2005 (New England) and losses in the playoffs of 1996 (Jacksonville) and 2013 (Baltimore).
