Singleton receives second impermissible-use-of-helmet fine in as many weeks

Broncos inside linebacker Alex Singleton just can’t avoid the NFL’s disciplinary police.

For the fourth time in the regular-season’s first seven weeks, the NFL docked the Week 7 AFC Defensive Player of the Week for a hit, this time for impermissible use of the helmet on a hit of Arizona running back Tyler Allgeier.

Singleton had his Week 2 fine for unnecessary roughness rescinded, but the three other fines have cost him a combined $83,485 — including a first impermissible-use-of-the-helmet fine for a hit in the Oct. 15 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Safety Brandon Jones was also fined for impermissible use of the helmet, but since it was his first fine for that infraction this season, he was fined approximately half of what Singleton was docked — and the same fine amount as Singleton received one week earlier.

Singleton also received an impermissible-use-of-the-helmet fine last December, making it three over the last 12 games, including postseason.
