Broncos QB Russell Wilson is second in NFL jerseys sold, trails a nemesis

The hype for Russell Wilson is real.

The Denver Broncos QB is second in the NFL in merchandise sales right now, trailing only one other quarterback. And, of course, it’s Tom Brady.

Like it or not, Brady is the best QB in NFL history, so it makes sense. After a brief “retirement” this offseason, the soon to be 45-year-old Brady is back for yet another year. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal caller is seeking an eighth Lombardi Trophy.

Of course, Brady would only have six rings and not seven if it weren’t for beating Wilson and the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX. Wilson infamously threw an interception on the goal line in the final seconds, gifting the Patriots the win. If only Seattle had run the football.

But that’s a different story from the past, with this news in 2022 being pretty cool. A wide receiver in Cooper Kupp being No. 3 on the list is a bit surprising, but the Rams did win the Super Bowl a year ago and Kupp was a big reason why. The opposing QB in that game, Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow, checks in at No. 4 with defensive monster Aaron Donald rounding out the top-5.

Will Wilson and Brady meet in another Super Bowl? It’s certainly possible. Both Denver and Tampa Bay have solid squads, with the goal to play in the biggest game in the sport in February.
