Broncos list seven players as not practicing on estimated injury report

The Denver Broncos listed a whopping 10 players on their estimated injury report Monday night, with seven of them given a “did not practice” designation.

It came as no surprise that players listed as not practicing on the estimation included four players who missed Sunday’s game: tight end Nate Adkins (knee), safety P.J. Locke (neck) wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) and cornerback Pat Surtain II (pectoral-muscle strain).

Adkins, Mims and Surtain missed the entire week practice leading up to Sunday’s win over the Houston Texans. Locke was limited early last week and did not practice the Friday before the game.

Nor was safety J.T. Gray’s inclusion on Monday’s injury report eye-opening; he left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury.

But cornerback Riley Moss and safety Brandon Jones also landed on the list with ankle and foot issues, respectively. No injury to either was announced in the NRG Stadium press box during Sunday’s game.

With Moss, Jones and Surtain sidelined, only Talanoa Hufanga is healthy among the Broncos’ first-team base secondary quartet.

THREE BRONCOS FRONT-SEVEN STARTERS LISTED WITH LIMITED PARTICIPATION

Those players are: edge rusher Jonathon Cooper (thumb) and defensive linemen D.J. Jones (knee) and John Franklin-Myers (shoulder).

All told, six members of the Broncos’ first-team defense are on the report.

Estimated injury reports are mandated by the league on Mondays prior to Thursday Night Football games, as teams typically do not practice, utilizing the day for the mandated player-off-day.
