Broncos get more good news on both Pat Surtain II and Riley Moss
9NEWS and 104.3 The Fan Broncos insider Mike Klis says the injuries to starting CBs Pat Surtain II and Riley Moss are both not long term

The Denver Broncos were battered and bruised against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Luckily, the news has been largely positive on Monday, especially when it comes to injuries.
No one’s season is over — or even close to it.
Wide receiver Pat Bryant has an ankle sprain that will keep him out a few weeks, while starting cornerbacks Pat Surtain II (ankle) and Riley Moss (ribs) could be back sooner rather than later.
9NEWS and 104.3 The Fan Broncos insider Mike Klis offered these updates on Bryant, Surtain and Moss.
Following MRI exams today on Pat Surtain and Pat Bryant’s ankle injuries, relatively good news per sources. Timetable on returns to be determined but neither are long term injuries sources said.
Also Riley Moss (ribs) not long term per source but return still to be determined.…— MikeKlis9NEWS (@mikeklis9news) October 5, 2026
That confirms what was reported late Sunday night, that the non-contact injury to Surtain isn’t the Achilles. It’s an ankle, which ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler says could keep Surtain out “about two weeks.”
Klis reports how much time Moss misses is to be determined, but it’s a sigh of relief that it’s not long term.
Denver turned to Kris Abrams-Draine and Jahdae Barron without Surtain and Moss in the second half against the 49ers and both played well.
The first injury report for next Sunday against the Chargers will come out on Wednesday, but there’s a decent chance Abrams-Draine and Barron are pressed into starting duty in Los Angeles.
Losing to San Francisco 24-14 was a blow to the Broncos record, but the fact the game won’t have injury repercussions that hang over the whole season is a nice silver lining.
