Bo Nix says Broncos are not pressing panic button and ‘not freaking out’

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix shared some good perspective on Thursday.

With the disaster against the Chiefs still lingering, the Broncos were back at practice and have shifted their focus to the Jaguars on Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High.

Nix gave a lengthy answer wrapping up what went wrong in Kansas City and also revealed the mindset of the team after an 0-1 start to 2026.

“Learned a long time ago, you never play as bad as you think and you never play as good as you think. For us, it was the case of we didn’t play as bad as what we thought. We just, there at the end of the game, didn’t get many third-down conversions. We felt like it was 7-7, 14-7 and 21-7 for a long time in the game,” Bo Nix said.

The Chiefs did slowly but surely pull away from the Broncos, ending in a 31-10 beatdown that had people wondering if Denver is still a contender.

But Nix thinks they were in that game longer than people realized.

“It was reachable. We were in it for awhile, we just didn’t help ourselves by any means. You watch the film and there’s a couple of good things and then we’re all of a sudden back cause of a penalty or something. You just can’t win in this league like that,” Bo Nix said.

Earning a victory against Jacksonville this weekend would be a nice reset. The Broncos have a shot to get to .500 and put the train back on the tracks. Nix made it clear the locker room isn’t worried.

“Overall, we’re not going to press the panic button. And we’re not freaking out, we’re not starting from scratch or anything. We feel like we’re still in a good spot and we just didn’t play great by any means and we’ve gotta play better,” Bo Nix said.

That first chance comes in just three days with the Jaguars in Denver, the only team who beat the Broncos at home last regular season.

It’s a tough test, but a nice rebound opportunity for Bo Nix and the whole squad.
