Bo Nix delivers a message to Broncos Country after awful ankle news

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix delivered a message to the fans on Wednesday afternoon.

It’s a great one from the franchise quarterback who had his season cut stunningly short.

Nix fractured his ankle in an epic OT win over the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs. The news was delivered postgame in a second press conference by head coach Sean Payton, so it was shocking.

Here’s how Bo Nix summed up the last few days for him with a post on Instagram.

“What started as one of the most exciting games I’ve ever been a part of ended with some of the most devastating football news I’ve ever received. This is not how I imagined my season would come to an end, but our season has been defined by overcoming adversity and responding to it,” Bo Nix wrote in part.

He also added he “couldn’t be more confident” in backup QB Jarrett Stidham. That’s who the Broncos will have under center in the AFC Title Game when they battle the New England Patriots on Sunday.

“God never says oops, and he is always good. He has big plans for this team. We’re not finished, as a matter of fact we’re just getting started. We’re just going to keep climbing higher. Go Broncos,” Nix concluded.

After practice on Wednesday, head coach Sean Payton confirmed that Nix’s ankle surgery went well. That’s good news for next season, but nothing to be done about it this year.

It’s a mature message from Bo Nix and one all of Broncos Country can get behind. It’s clear he’s a leader now and will be for the next decade and beyond.
