Alex Singleton shares more about cancer diagnosis on ‘Good Morning America’

Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton has been very open about his battle with testicular cancer.

The news came as a massive surprise earlier this month after a random drug test showed Singleton had an elevated level of a hormone that makes testosterone.

Singleton knew he hadn’t cheated the system or put anything illegal in his body, so something else must be wrong. Doctors eventually confirmed the cancer diagnosis, and Singleton had surgery the day after the Broncos played the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football.

On Tuesday, Alex Singleton shared more of his story on “Good Morning America,” showing his remarkable perseverance and great attitude throughout the whole ordeal.

“I’ve learned more in this past week just of compassion and empathy through a bunch of tough dudes than, you know, anything else I think I’ve ever gone through,” Alex Singleton told ABC’s Trevor Ault.

Singleton somehow registered nine tackles in that Raiders game, a 10-7 Broncos victory, then had surgery.

He missed the Chiefs contest, which was obviously to be expected, but might actually be back on the field this Sunday night against the Washington Commanders.

The article accompanying Singleton’s brave storytelling says he “is hoping to return this Sunday… less than one month after his cancer diagnosis.”

Regardless of whether he suits up or not, the story of Alex Singleton is a crazy and inspirational one during one of the best Broncos season in a long time.
