Broncos agree to terms on three-year extension with Malcolm Roach

The Denver Broncos are in the giving spirit this holiday season as they continue to sign key players to contract extensions. Defensive tackle Malcolm Roach is the latest player to ink a new deal with the orange and blue, as he and the franchise agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension on Wednesday.

The deal is worth up to $29.25 million, with $14 million being guaranteed. Terms of the deal were reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Roach is the third player to sign a new extension this week, as kicker Wil Lutz and center Luke Wattenberg both got deals done in recent days.

The 27-year-old has only played in six games this season, as he suffered a calf injury in the preseason that put him on the IR list, but has been a force when healthy. He’s tallied 21 total tackles and two sacks in the interior of the Broncos’ defensive line, and has been a large reason why the team’s run defense has been so good because of his ability to muck things up in the middle.

He is one of the names who was with Sean Payton down in New Orleans and followed his former head coach to Denver. Roach spent the first four years of his career (2020-23) in the Bayou, two with Payton, before coming to the Mile High City before the 2024 season. Last year, he played in all 17 games and recorded 25 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

This is a huge deal for Denver, as he joins Zach Allen, Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper as players on the front four to get a contract extension. All four are now locked into deals through the 2027 season.
