DENVER — Sean Payton says after the Denver Broncos’ 22-19 buzzer-beating win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday that Bo Nix did his job because the team won the game.
Even though Denver is now 9-2 and in first place in the entire AFC, Nix keeps taking the heat. Online, in the media, and even some in Broncos Country have turned a bit on the second-year quarterback because he’s clearly struggled at times. Against KC, he threw for more and ran for yards than future Hall of Famer Patrick Mahomes, had fewer turnovers and most importantly, outduelled him for a late-game-winning field goal drive to take a stranglehold on the AFC West.
The Broncos roll into the bye week on a massive win streak and feeling great. So Denver’s tight end Adam Trautman wanted to clear the air before his vacation.
“If you’re talking s*** about Bo online, you’re a coward. Absolute coward,” Trautman said on Sunday. “He blanks it out… We don’t care what other people think. We know what we have in the building, and we know what he’s made of, and we don’t really care what people have to say, so, Dragonslayer69 with his 7-11 Slurpee in his mom’s basement, I don’t give a s*** what he has to say, right? And Bo doesn’t, either.”
