ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos began their game prep with three first-team players not taking part in the full breadth of team work.

Tight end Evan Engram, defensive end John Franklin-Myers and inside linebacker Dre Greenlaw all were listed on the injury report as the team got its work in advance of Sunday’s game at Indianapolis under way.

Engram injured his calf in last Sunday’s game and did not finish the game. He was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice.

Franklin-Myers and Greenlaw did not practice. Franklin-Myers is dealing with a knee injury.

Greenlaw missed all three practices last week and did not play last Sunday due to a quad injury. Broncos coach Sean Payton said Monday that he expected the free-agent pickup to return “sooner than later”, but “sooner” did not mean Wednesday.

Denver’s work for its practice was in shorts, as the team eschewed a full-pad session. Its work last Wednesday was in full pads.

OTHER BRONCOS STILL WORKING THEIR WAY BACK

Tight end Nate Adkins remained sidelined, working out on a side field. Adkins underwent tightrope surgery to repair an ankle injury and is expected back within the next two weeks, as the Broncos did not place him on recallable injured reserve at the start of the regular season.

Practice-squad cornerback Reese Taylor also worked out on a side field. He has been dealing with a hamstring issue, although he stretched out with teammates at the start of the session.
