Quarterback Carson Wentz is officially off the table for the Denver Broncos after Adam Schefter reported on Thursday that he will be traded to the Indianapolis Colts.
Philadelphia has agreed to trade Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first, league sources tell @mortreport and me.

The Eagles agreed to trade Wentz in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first. In trading Wentz, the Eagles will take on the largest dead cap hit in history at $33.8 million while the Colts will assume the balance of Wentz’s $128 million extension.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, zero of the 22 quarterbacks drafted in the first round between 2009-2016 are with their original teams. Wentz was selected second overall by the Eagles in 2016.
Given the asking price, Wentz seemed like a strong candidate to become the Broncos next starting quarterback, but now the quarterback carousel is getting smaller and smaller.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is still available, although it’s unclear if the Broncos would be willing to give up enough to acquire the elite quarterback.
Other quarterbacks are still available, but will the Broncos and new general manager George Paton take the leap?
