The Denver Broncos made two trades on Friday night, moments before they were scheduled to pick in Round 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft.

First, GM George Paton did a deal with the Carolina Panthers that involved eight total selections.

The Broncos moved down six spots in the second-round, but up in the third-round and fourth-round. Here are the details of that deal.

After that, Paton moved back again, this time in a trade with the Lions. They added a fourth-round pick to drop three more spots to No. 60 overall.

Here’s how that one looked.

And with the 60th overall pick, Denver selected running back RJ Harvey out of Central Florida.

It’s clearly a position of need for the Broncos, and after going defense in Round 1, they gave Bo Nix a weapon. Hopefully, a guy that can take some pressure of the Denver QB to be most of the offense.

Harvey had a monster year for UCF in 2024, going for more than 1,500 yards on the ground and 22 touchdowns. He averaged 6.8 yards per carry. Harvey also caught 20 passes for 267 yards and three more scores. He could be the “joker” we often hear head coach Sean Payton talk about.

And Harvey was also good in 2023, rushing for more than 1,400 yards and 16 touchdowns that season for the Knights. It’s a solid pick by Payton and Paton, and Harvey could start for the Broncos immediately this upcoming season.
