The Colorado Buffaloes have been capitalizing on every new sponsorship opportunity possible in the Coach Prime era. From putting new logos on the new turf at Folsom Field to renaming CU’s indoor practice facility to the Ford Practice Facility, no opportunity has gone to waste to increase the program’s reach.

This week, Taco Bell released its own collaboration with the Buffs in the form of a new menu item, the Buffs Box.

The box features a cheesy gordita crunch, a beefy 5-layer burrito, a Doritos locos taco, cinnamon twists and a large drink that comes in a collectible cup with a CU player on it, all for just $7. Some cups have Seaton on them while others have a variety of other players such as Drelon Miller on the side.

Not a bad deal for $7 bucks, and it’s valid at almost every Taco Bell in Colorado, except for those up in Fort Collins (Rams fans probably don’t want to see the Buffs when they’re trying to enjoy some cheap tacos, anyways).

Another neat aspect of the partnership between CU and the popular fast food chain is that every time the Buffs score a touchdown this season, Taco Bell will donate $1,000 to CU Athletics. Last season, the black and gold found the end zone 56 times (29th-most in the FBS), but they don’t have Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter back in action to keep that tally up. They’ve got to hope that the younger guys stepping up in place of all the NFL talent that went out the door can replicate that scoring effort.

Buffs fans in Boulder can hit this up on Baseline Road one night when they’re feeling hungry, while fans who commute for the games can grab a box to eat while they sit in traffic waiting to get out of town after a late-night showdown.
