Colorado Buffaloes star Jordan Seaton received second-team All-America honors on the Walter Camp team on Tuesday after a dominant true freshman season that showed that his five-star recruiting tag was no joke. After being named to the Freshman All-American team in 2024, all eyes are still on him and expect him to be even better in 2025.

When Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes got Jordan Seaton to commit to the program back in 2023, they knew they had a star in the making on their hands. The five-star recruit from IMG Academy was arguably the most sought-after recruit in the nation with offers from some of the top dynasties in college football, but he opted to take a chance on CU and make an impact right away.

As a true freshman in 2024, Seaton was instantly a force on the outside protecting Shedeur Sanders’ blindside. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound tackle received a 75.3 blocking grade from Pro Football Focus last season, a mark that beat out every other freshman tackle in the nation by at least 13 points. That came after a somewhat slow start to the season in Weeks 1 and 2, as he was getting adjusted to high-profile college ball in those two contests. Once he settled in, his PFF grade jumped all the way up to an 85.5 for the final 11 games of the season as he allowed just one hit and zero sacks on 317 snaps in pass protection.

While Seaton has the ability to hold his ground in pass protection, he has some of the quickest feet in the nation in the run blocking game, which allows him to pull around to add a whole different set of creative run concepts to CU’s playbook.

While Seaton was able to hold his own on the left side of the line last year, he didn’t get much help from the other guys next to him, besides Cash Cleveland, who decided to transfer after Texas Tech offered him some of that oil money that makes everything bigger in Texas. While the Buffs made some moves in the transfer portal to address the never-ending pass protection problem, only time will tell if the moves actually move the needle. Last season, the story was the same, that the black and gold went out and got some dogs on the offensive line from the portal, but none of them actually ended up making a big impact against the top opponents on the schedule.

In other news, Seaton was also revealed as the fifth-best offensive tackle in the new EA Sports College Football 26 video game, slotting in at a 92 overall. Just because Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are no longer playing ball at the foot of the flatirons, that doesn’t mean that there’s no more fireworks in Boulder. Seaton is one of the top young talents in all of college football, and if he can keep up the same level of progression that he displayed in 2024, he will be poised to be one of the top picks in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Former Buff Jordyn Tyson was also named to the second-team. He and the Arizona State Sun Devils, fresh off a Big 12 Championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff, will be in Boulder on November 22 for a matchup that could have some major implications for the conference standings. That matchup will be one of the toughest contests on CU’s schedule for the 2025 season, and one that the Buffs probably need to win if they want to prove the doubters wrong once again as they were predicted to be one of the conference’s worst teams in 2025.
