Travis Hunter cemented himself into the college football history books last season with a decorated season that was capped off by him hoisting the Heisman Memorial Trophy. After his jersey was retired by the Colorado Buffaloes to honor the greatness he displayed at Folsom Field throughout his two seasons in Boulder, his legacy was memorialized in another way.

Hunter’s portrait is now finalized. It’s a tradition for every winner to have a curated portrait made, and Hunter’s has the ‘D’ patch front and center, something that Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders has brought to Colorado and made a staple of the program.

He also had a fun moment with the portrait in an ad for the Nissan Heisman House alongside other college football legends Baker Mayfield and Barry Sanders.

The voting for the award last December was very close, as Hunter narrowly edged out Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty by just 214 points. The voters thought that Hunter’s stellar performance on both sides of the ball carried more weight than Jeanty’s one-of-a-kind season at running back, and voted him as the country’s top player.

The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner is one of the best players to ever put on the black and gold, and his overflowing trophy cabinet backs it up. Hunter holds the single-season record for receiving touchdowns (15), and has the second-most receptions (96) and receiving-yards in a season in program history (1,258). Now, he’s the second Buff to have a Heisman portrait up, as Rashaan Salaam earned his spot with his outstanding season in 1994.

Hunter made his NFL debut with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. He caught six of his eight targets for 33 yards while playing 39 snaps on offense and just six on defense. Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said on Wednesday that the two-way athlete should be getting more snaps going forward.
