Colorado to be in national spotlight again against TCU

The Colorado Buffaloes will be in the national spotlight once again when they take on the TCU Horned Frogs in Week 6

The Colorado Buffaloes have been on national television for almost every single game of the Coach Prime era. The people have wanted to see the black and gold in action — to either support them or hate on them — and haven’t had to look far to find their games on TV. That theme will stay the same for the Buffs’ Week 6 clash against the TCU Horned Frogs, as it was announced on Monday that the game would be in a primetime window on FOX that evening.

The game is set to kick off from Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, at 5:30 p.m. MDT on Saturday, Oct. 4. Even though the Buffs have been on national tv a lot throughout the first part of the Prime era, this will be just the fourth time that they’re playing in the Saturday primetime slot (5:30 0r 6:00 p.m. MDT kick), and the second time on FOX. The other three were a 28-16 loss against UCLA on ESPN in 2023, the 28-10 embarrassment in Nebraska on NBC in 2024, and the 38-31 miraculous comeback against Baylor on FOX two weeks later.

They’ve played four more games in that 5:30 or 6:00 window, but those have either been on weeknights or for a bowl game.

This will also be the first meeting between the programs since they opened the 2023 season against each other. That was the inaugural game of the Prime era in which Shedeur Sanders threw for 510 yards and four touchdowns, Dylan Edwards had four touchdowns, and Travis Hunter had one of the best games of his collegiate career with 119 receiving yards and an out-of-this-world interception.

It’s safe to say that TCU will be looking for revenge in this showdown, and they have a much better team on the field this year than the squad that trotted out in 2023. They are currently 3-0 and have a big test against Arizona State this weekend that will show the rest of the Big 12 if they are going to be one of the teams vying for a spot in the title game at the start of December.
