The Denver Nuggets could have a defining offseason ahead.

And major changes to the roster might be on the horizon.

While multiple reports say that head coach David Adelman is safe, ESPN’s Shams Charania dropped an interesting piece of news on ABC’s pregame show on Sunday.

Charania starts talking about the Nuggets at the 1:45 mark below with Ernie Johnson.

“They’re gonna get calls and listen to calls on everyone on the roster besides Nikola Jokic,” Charania said.

That’s the key quote right there. Denver executives Ben Tenzer and Jonathan Wallace will not only take calls on the likes of Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Cameron Johnson, Christian Braun and others, but they could also trade them.

Only Jokic, who Charania reports will sign his super-max contract extension this summer, can’t be touched.

Coming off a horrendously disappointing Round 1 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves it makes sense. The Nuggets won two games and all four losses had elements of embarrassment.

And in the deciding Game 6, Murray scored only 12 points on a pitiful 4-17 shooting. Braun managed just three points in 28 minutes. Gordon was in street clothes as his injuries wouldn’t cooperate, much like they did all season long.

Johnson was actually great in the eliminating game, pouring in 27 points. But he was extremely pedestrian in Games 1-4, a big reason why Denver found itself down 3-1 in the series in the first place.

Yes, contracts and aprons and the luxury tax will impact all of this. After all, who’s going to want to inherit Braun’s brutal five-year, $125 million deal that won’t even kick in until next season?

But the No. 1 item from Charania is that anyone besides Jokic is available. It could be the end of a Nuggets era.

That championship in 2023 was awesome and guys like Murray and Gordon will always be heroes in the Mile High City. However it might be time to turn the page and revamp the roster to give Jokic his best shot at a second ring.

Stay tuned — the next few months could get wild.
