Nuggets get another very late start time for Game 5 with the Wolves

Nuggets and Wolves Game 5 will be on NBC, with the official start time listed as 8:30 p.m., but everyone knows what that really means

The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves didn’t tip-off until 8:49 p.m. MT on Monday night.

We better get used to it.

After the Nuggets and Wolves played Game 2 deep into the evening at Ball Arena it’s going to happen again next Monday.

The NBA released the start time for Game 5, which is now necessary after Minnesota stormed back to tie the series one game apiece. It’ll be back in Denver on NBC, with the official start time listed as 8:30 p.m., but everyone knows what that really means.

It’s frustrating for Nuggets fans, being treated like a West Coast city during the NBA playoffs. With the Pistons and Magic playing at 6:00 p.m. on NBC, Denver and Minnesota will almost assuredly get pushed back until around 8:50 once again.

It’s also not a weekend night, it’s a Monday, making it tough for younger fans to attend the game or stay up late to watch the conclusion. Heck, a lot of adults struggle with it as well.

And while the announces will be revealed at a later date, it’s safe to say some Nuggets fans were upset with the analysis of Brian Scalabrine and Austin Rivers. The broadcast for Game 2 seemed to be very pro-Timberwolves.

That information should come at in the next few days, but it’ll be another game played close to midnight before it ends in the Mile High City.

Hopefully by that point the Nuggets have regained control of the series. Regardless of whether one team is up 3-1 or it’s tied 2-2, it’ll obviously be a pivotal contest.

And another sleepy Tuesday for fans in Denver.
