Aaron Gordon’s hopes of playing in Game 3 of the first round took a hit early Thursday, as he was downgraded on the injury report to questionable.

He was originally listed as “probable” with left calf tightness on Wednesday night. This is the first game this series that Gordon has shown up on a pregame injury list but not the first time this year.

Gordon only played in 36 games as he battled two different hamstring issues and a calf problem. Now, a calf has him once again on the injury report as Denver plays its biggest games of the season. His importance is hard to overstate, the Nuggets went 27-9 in the regular season when he played.

Peyton Watson remains “out” with a right hamstring strain. That means the Nuggets would be down to second-year player Spencer Jones and possibly even Zeke Nnaji at power forward.

Gordon didn’t look great in Game 2, a choke-job loss. In 37 minutes he finished with only eight points, on 3-9 shooting from the field. Gordon did grab seven rebounds and four assists.

(Update 4:30 p.m.) –

According to multiple reports, Aaron Gordon is out for Game 3 against the Wolves.
