Garrett Hampson earned this week’s Smashburger “Smashed It” Play of the Week for his two RBI double against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon in Phoenix.
The Rockies were trailing the Diamondbacks 2-0 in the seventh inning when Hampson came to the plate with two guys on base. His hit tied up the game 2-2, slamming off the bottom of the wall and scoring Yonathan Daza and Ryan McMahon. Hampson would come home on the very next play on an RBI single by Connor Joe, and the Rockies stole the game 3-2.
