Elehuris Montero earned this week’s Smashburger “Smashed It” Play of the Week for his home run against the Diamondbacks on Saturday night in Arizona.

The Rockies were trailing the Diamondbacks 2-1 in the eighth inning when Montero came to the plate. His blast to left field got the Rockies all square, tying it up 2-2. It was Montero’s first career MLB home run and it could not have come at a better time. Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon would go on to hit a solo shot of his own in the ninth and the Rockies escaped the desert with a 3-2 win.
