A snowy flyover, Todd Helton and a torpedo bat and Pete Coors at Coors Field

The Colorado Rockies hosted the Athletics for Opening Day at Coors Field on Friday.

And despite the cold temperatures and snowy / rainy weather, it was still a party in downtown Denver as always.

Here are some of the sights and sounds from Coors Field, with an appearance by Todd Helton checking out the infamous torpedo bats, Pete Coors throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, a memorable flyover in the elements and more.

Despite the conditions, a credit to the Rockies for the pregame festivities and day going off without a hitch.

This is Colorado and we’re used to the elements, especially when it snows in early April.

Now, the product on the field could always be better, but Opening Day is about a lot more than baseball. And this was one that checked all the boxes — while hopefully earning us weather that is 70 degrees and sunny next year.
